Once again the Koh Tao Festival is on it’s way to Koh Tao, having been postponed slightly this year due to elections. This year the Festival moves to June 18th & 19th in celebration of the anniversary of his majesty King Rama IV’s first visit to Koh Tao over 114 years ago and apparently this will be it’s new annual date.
The Koh Tao Festival is an event organised by the Save Koh Tao and the local community. And represents the culmination of a years activities and celebrates the good work done on the island. Two nights of international live music and DJ’s on two stages will entertain the crowds. Who will be feed and watered by local vendors.
The festival is much moor than just a party though it is a great opportunity to raise awareness of problems facing our island and participation in local observation efforts, for locals visitors.
The days leading up to the main two nights include releases of juvenile or rehabilitated sea turtles, the introduction of baby giant clam nurseries, beach clean ups, host lectures and much much more.
So get yourself to Koh Tao for the 18th & 19th of June and join in the fun!!!
