Another option for the more experienced diver is the self-sufficient diver course offering underwater videographers and photographers the skills in self sufficiency to be able to take responsibility for themselves and to effectively manage the equipment, risks and build in additional safety precautions into their dive plans.

For those that wish to train as an underwater videographer the minimum experience requirements are that you are an Emergency First Response and Rescue Diver with at least 50 logged dives, with all your own diving equipment. We highly reccommend if you wish to work as a freelance underwater videographer that you are a DIVEMASTER

It is also worth noting that if you are taking a gap year or considering further education then you may be able to gain college credit for  PADI scuba diving courses.
