If you have a deep passion for diving, love it with all of your heart, and are serious about a career as an underwater imager on Koh Tao then the Divemaster course is where you need to be. Most resort and liveaboard positions for videographer or photographers require a minimum of Divemaster certification. So if you are considering doing what you love for a living: become a Divemaster.

The PADI Divemaster course, is the beginning of your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving. In this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. Developing your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for the PADI Open Water ScubaDiving Instructor.

During the program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You will complete water skills and stamina exercises. Through training exercises you will extend your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others to improve their scuba diving. This knowledge is put into action through a structured internship and series of practical training exercises.

As you progress through the course, you’ll expand your diving knowledge, hone you skills and increase your confidence as a scuba diver.
Becoming a certified as a PADI Divemaster means amongst other things you will be authorized to:

Supervise and plan dive activities, Assist an Instructor, Conduct local Snorkeling experiences, Local Diving experience, Scuba Review program Earn the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating to be able to teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty.

For those that wish to train as an underwater videographer the minimum experience requirements are that you are an Emergency First Response and Rescue Diver with at least 50 logged dives, with all your own diving equipment. We highly reccommend if you wish to work as a freelance underwater videographer that you are a DIVEMASTER

It is also worth noting that if you are taking a gap year or considering further education then you may be able to gain college credit for  PADI scuba diving courses.
